Socar Chatmon-Thomas is a REALTOR®, R.E. Broker, and Auctioneer. As the Broker/Owner of Elegant Estates Realty & Auctions, she actively represents commercial and residential clients in the Austin Metro Area. Beginning her career in the mid-1990's with Coldwell Banker, Socar quickly gained the "top producer" label and ranks in the top 5% of agents nationwide.
Socar loves to travel! Once she discovered NAR's CIPS Designation, she quickly earned it! By earning her CIPS Designation, she has managed to marry her love for international travel with her love for real estate. As she travels around the world, she connects with other CIPS designees and real estate professionals, thus creating a massive global referral network.
Back home in Texas, Socar is also a Certified Texas REALTOR® Instructor. She has received several honors for her work in real estate, including the coveted Omega Tau Rho award, ABOR’s Community Service Award, the REALTOR® of the Year Award, Austin's Educator of the Year in 2021, NAR Hall of Fame, and was most recently named Texas REALTOR® Educator of the Year in 2022.
As a Past Chairman of the Austin Board of REALTORS®, she remains active both locally and nationally. She is currently serving as a Director for the National Association of REALTORS® representing Texas and Louisiana in Region 10.
Socar comes from a long line of educators and entrepreneurs: Her mother taught elementary school in Houston for over 33 years and her father, an electrical engineer, owned a commercial construction company. Chatmon-Thomas brings energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the classroom. She enjoys real estate and is as passionate about excellence as she is about education.
