Online Learning from the Center for REALTOR® Development (CRD)
Your hub for online courses, microcourses, and on-the-go resources.
This video explores some basics of construction often encountered by REALTORS® in their daily practice: electrical, plumbing, on-site systems, and foundations. This is not in any way intended to make a REALTOR® an expert in these areas. The goal is to identify common problems so that you can advise your clients to have them looked at by a home inspector or other expert.
Topics Covered
- Wiring: fuses, breakers, amperage, and dangerous wiring conditions to look out for
- The three major components of a plumbing system
- How on-site septic systems work; alternative systems that may no longer be acceptable
- Different types of foundation systems found in homes, including support columns
Course Duration
- 14 minutes
